Hypnotik FAQs
Power Usage
No, you cannot. While each individual channel is capable of handling up to 240W, the device has a strict total power quota of 360W shared across all outputs.
Think of it as a power budget: if you use 240W on a single channel, you only have 120W remaining (360W - 240W) to split among the other four channels. The combined total of all active channels must never exceed 360W.
Network
No. The Hypnotik FX is compatible only with 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks. It does not support 5GHz bands.
Firmware Upgrade
Firmware Upgrade Overview
You can upgrade the firmware using one of two methods: Remote OTA (Automatic) or Manual OTA (File Upload).
Remote OTA is supported on Version 1.1.8 and later. If your device is on an older version, you must use the Manual OTA method.
- Remote OTA (Automatic): The device connects to the Hypnotik Cloud to check for updates. If a new version is found, the user simply clicks a button to approve and start the update.
- Manual OTA (File Upload): The user must manually download the firmware file to their computer/phone and then upload it to the controller via the Web UI.
Connection Requirements
- For Remote OTA: Yes. The device requires an active internet connection to communicate with the Hypnotik Cloud.
- For Manual OTA: No. You do not need an active internet connection on the controller itself, as the file is transferred locally.
- Remote OTA: No. You cannot perform a Remote update in AP mode because the device cannot reach the cloud.
- Manual OTA: Yes. You can perform a Manual update in AP mode because you are uploading the firmware file directly from your local device to the controller.
Please refer to the step-by-step instructions in our [Manual Update Guide]. You can perform manual update from phone too. [Manual Update Phone Guide].
